Patron

Dr. Rajkumar Bhakar is the founding member and patron of the Rajasthan Technical Library Association (RTLA). He is constantly working for the development of libraries and the library profession in Rajasthan. He was elected as Vice President of the Indian Library Association (ILA) from 2019 to 2022 and served ILA council from 2016-2019. He also served in the Indian Army for 16 years before entering the Library and Information Profession.

Dr. Bhakar is currently employed as a Dean, Faculty of Library and Information Science at Shri Khushal Das University, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. He has over 40 years of experience in the library and information profession, with a focus on library administration and resource management as well as in Indian Army.

Dr. Bhakar is a member of the advisory board of the Journal of Advanced Research in Library and Information Science. As a promising researcher, he co-edited three books and contributed chapters to several books published in India. He also published more than fifty research papers in national and international journals and gave presentations at conferences. Fifteen scholars have awarded PhD degrees under his supervision.

Dr. Bhakar worked as an Associate Professor cum Head of the Department in the Department of Library and Information Science at Shri JJT University, Jhunjhunu, Chief Librarian at Ananta Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center in Rajsamand and Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences in Udaipur. Hew also served as a Chief Librarian in the Sri Balaji Group of Institutions, Jaipur. In 2015, the RTLA recognised his contribution by awarding him the title of Best Technical Librarian 2011. In his services to the Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tiberewala University in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, have been acknowledged through letters of praise as a good presentation and notable teacher.

Dr. Bhakar served as the General Secretary of Gaurav Sainani Vikas Sansthan's aside from that, he has received numerous medals, including the 9 Years Long Service Medal, Operation Blue Star in 1984 and OP Rakshak in 1987. He is also a lifetime member of several professional organisations, including the Indian Library Association, RTLA, RLA, ASLIP, Ex-Serviceman League, Gaurav Sainani Vikas Sansthan, and others.
